ONCE I GET ONE IMAGE ...

"I don't consciously sit down and say, okay, now I'm going to create a poem about war in which I'm going to follow the rhythms of war or the rhythms of a group of people who are in a cafe because I don't know what they are. I have no experience with that whatsoever but once I get one image, another image, the images themselves show me where I need to go next and out of that, I can in the end, see that there has been a pattern created but that pattern isn't something I start out with. It evolves out of my interaction with the language."
